AM The He Pou Aroha Community Cenotaph Project

Emotional experiences in the real world, connected by an online space.

Online Cenotaph is a digital social space where enthusiasts, families, and experts can contribute and find information and artifacts.

The He Pou Aroha Community Cenotaph project, associated with the WW100 commemoration period that took Online Cenotaph to communities around the country between 2015 and 2018. The project received the ServiceIQ New Zealand Museums Award for Project Excellence in 2019.

Components

Moveable activation. Designed to "expand out" from a trailer that could be towed by a reasonably sized vehicle, the activation was deployed at key sites around New Zealand, and crossed-over into other events and activations I was working on at the time, including the 75th Anniversary of the Royal Navy Museum.

Innovative, purpose-built, digitisation kiosks. Introducing the Artifact Digitisation Units (ADUs). The He Pou Aroha Community Cenotaph provided portable digital access to Online Cenotaph using innovative purpose-built digitisation kiosks, that worked individually so they could be activated at sites such as AWMM or RSAs, or as part of the activation trailer.
