What is ARL Wednesday Night League? It’s a live TV show on SKYSPORT and YouTube, a doubleheader showcasing Aotearoa’s best Women’s and Men’s Premiership competition. Broadcast views in 2023 were over 1,000,000.

Taking regional premiership rugby league to the national stage is the motivation behind Auckland Rugby League’s (ARL) partnership with SkyTV. Last year when the network faced a Wednesday evening programming shortfall, ARL jumped at the opportunity to take up the primetime slot.

ARL Wednesday Night League runs every week from May-August. Each night showcases matchups in the Steele-Shanks Women’s and Fox Memorial Men’s Premiership.

The livestream of the ARL Wednesday Night League games didn’t just fill a gap, they elevated the exposure of Auckland’s rugby league talent, positively impacted the players and clubs, and expanded ARL’s audience reach.

·      An average weekly viewership of over 16,200 households

·      Total season viewership of 1m video views across SKYSPORT and YouTube

·      Viewership for Grand Final Matches reached 39,500 households
